MSE PRO™ 2N (99%) Strontium (Sr) Pieces (3-6mm) Evaporation Materials, 50g
Strontium (Sr) is a soft silver-white yellowish alkaline earth metal that is highly chemically reactive. The primary use for strontium was in glass for color television cathode ray tubes, where it prevented X-ray emission. Because of its chemical and physical similarity to calcium (Ca), it is also a natural bone-seeking element and about 98% of the total body Sr content is localized in bone tissue and thus it is used as a coating for biomaterials. It is usually co-evaporated with other materials as a dopant in thin film applications.
The dimensions and purities can be customized upon request. Please contact us for customization or bulk orders.
This material has a relatively high vapor pressure at low temperatures which can cause ppm level contamination in the chamber and subsequent films.
Hazardous Materials: Hazardous shipping charges may apply.
Due to the highly reactive nature of these materials, packaging in oil is required to reduce the chance for oxidation or other reaction.
