MSE PRO™ Alcohol Dehydrogenase, Lyophilized
The MSE PRO™ Alcohol dehydrogenase, a yeast-derived enzyme, belongs to the family of zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenases with a molecular weight of 141 kDa and four tightly bound zinc atom metalloenzymes per molecule. Alcohol dehydrogenase has an optimal pH range of 8.6-9.0 for oxidation and close to 7.0 for reduction; yeast alcohol dehydrogenase is the most reactive enzyme with ethanol, and its reactivity decreases as the volume of the alcohol increases or decreases, while its reactivity with branched-chain alcohols and sec-alcohols is also very low.
