The MSE PRO™ Calcium oxide is an inorganic compound, its chemical formula is CaO, commonly known as quicklime. Physical properties are surface white powder, impure is off-white, yellowish or gray when containing impurities, with hygroscopicity. Calcium oxide is alkaline oxide, sensitive to moisture. It can easily absorb carbon dioxide and water from the air. It reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) and generates a lot of heat, and is corrosive.
