The MSE PRO™ Chitin is a long-chain polymer of β-1,4-linked N-acetylglucosamine residues that can be used to identify and characterize chitinase and chitin deacetylase. It has been shown that chitin can be used as a control to study the structure of chitin from different species; it can be used in chitin asthma and allergy studies. In industry, chitin is used as a viscosity agent, thickener or adhesive.
