Dichlorobis(tri-o-tolylphosphine)palladium(II) is widely used as a catalyst in various organic transformations, particularly in cross-coupling reactions such as the Stille reaction. It is employed in the reaction of tributyltin enolates, prepared in situ from tributyltin methoxide and enol acetates, facilitating carbon-carbon bond formation.
