The MSE PRO™ Elastase belongs to a single peptide chain of multiple amino acids and is a serine protease that hydrolyzes proteins and peptides, including the hydrolysis of peptide bonds, amides and esters. It digests and breaks down elastin in connective tissue proteins.It is unique among proteases in its ability to hydrolyze natural elastin.Soybean trypsin inhibitors and kinin-releasing enzyme inhibitors inhibit protein hydrolysis activity but not elastin hydrolysis activity. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, hygroscopic.
