MSE PRO™ G418 Sulfate

The MSE PRO™ G418 sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It produces toxins in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, including bacterial, yeast, plant and mammalian cells, as well as protozoa and worms, by inhibiting the genes of transposons Tn61 and Tn5, which interferes with the function of ribosomes and blocks protein synthesis. When the neo gene is incorporated into the DNA of eukaryotic cells, it initiates the transcription of the sequences encoded by the neo gene into mRNA, resulting in the efficient expression of the resistance product, aminoglycoside phosphotransferase, which enables the cells to acquire resistance and grow in selective medium containing G418.
