MSE Supplies offers laboratory soil mill, which is a fine grinding instrument. Unlike other vertical disc-designed mills in the market, its discs are stacked up and down in levels, providing fast size reduction to under 75 microns for mid-hard and brittle samples. The reduction occurs between a fixed mill disc and a moving mill disc. Easy handling, efficient milling, and minimal residual material in the mill chamber make it a favorable choice for large-batch environmental soil tests.

Working Principle
The comminution effects are generated by the pressure and friction forces which are caused by a moving disc rotates against a fixed disc just below it. The sample enters the mill chamber from the center of the discs, where it undergoes pre-crushing, and then moves towards the outer regions of the mill discs due to centrifugal force for further grinding. The reduced particles fall into a collecting pan located beneath the outer regions of the milling discs, ensuring that the milling discs remain clean and the sample is collected.
Features and advantages
- By adjusting the gap width between the discs precisely, reproducible grinding results can be achieved.
- Both preliminary grinding and fine grinding can be performed.
- The mill chamber is designed with hinges for easy cleaning.
- The milling discs have a long lifespan.
- Various disc materials are available for contamination-free grinding.
- It features a dust-proof design.
