    Lutetium Nitrate Hydrate (Lu(NO3)3 · xH2O) is a colorless rare earth salt. It is used as a source for metallic Lutetium and other compounds. It is used for the production of ceramics, glass, phosphors and in laser crystals. It finds application as a catalyst in petroleum cracking, hydrogenation, alkylation and polymerization reactions.
