MSE PRO™ Ponceau S

The MSE PRO™ Ponceau S, Lichtenstein Red S is the sodium salt of a diazo dye. Lichtenstein Red is negatively charged and binds to positively charged amino acid residues, as well as to the non-polar regions of proteins, resulting in a reddish band. The sensitivity of Lichtenstein staining is not as good as that of Caulophylline blue staining, but its staining of proteins is reversible, and can be washed away with distilled water, PBS or other appropriate solutions after staining. It is soluble in water and ethanol, and the aqueous solution is rosy red.
