The MSE PRO™ Recombinant Protein (Strepavidin from Streptomycesavidinii), Streptavidin is an approximately 60 kDa homotetramer derived from Streptomyces. One molecule of Streptavidin binds highly specifically to four molecules of biotin, with an extremely strong affinity between the two. It is hygroscopic. Stable in soft and hard water, salt, alkali and acidic solutions. It may become turbid in storage, but clarifies by heating to 4°C. It is miscible with water. Miscible with water, neutral solution, soluble in polar organic solvents.

Applications:
Used for biotin coupled antigen/antibody detection, widely used in immunology ELISA. It can be used in immuno-microtiter plate, immunochromatography nitrocellulose membrane, gene chip, protein chip surface coating, rapid fixation of biotinylated antigen, antibody, nucleic acid and other substances. It can also be used for coupling NHS magnetic beads and resin microspheres. It has applications in luminescence diagnosis, separation of biotinylated substances, immunochromatography of magnetic test strips and so on.
