The MSE PRO™ Tetradecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide, abbreviated as TTAB, is a cationic/amphoteric surfactant. Also a dynamin inhibitor that inhibits GTPase activity of generator I. Targets dynamin-phospholipid interactions. Inhibits receptor-mediated endocytosis of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in non-neuronal cells; also inhibits synaptic vesicle endocytosis. Displays dynamic I inhibitory activity similar to OctMAB.

Applications:
Used to evaluate surfactant-controlled synthesis methods to obtain nanophases of mesoporous cerium dioxide-zirconia solid solutions containing cationic defects in the crystal structure. Used in studies for the determination of low molecular weights of organic acids in soils and plants by capillary zone electrophoresis. Applications include ion-pair chromatography, anionic detergents, deodorizers, catalysts, emulsifiers, disinfectants, bactericidal bases, antistatic agents and experimental use.
