The MSE PRO™ Urapidil hydrochloride is a selective α-blocker, and its antihypertensive effect has both central and peripheral mechanisms, but mainly peripheral dual mechanism. In the periphery, it can block the postsynaptic α1 receptor and inhibit the vasoconstrictor effect of catecholamines, thus reducing the peripheral vascular resistance and cardiac load; in the center, it can regulate the activity of the circulatory center through the excitation of 5-hydroxytryptamine-1A receptor, preventing the increase of blood pressure and accelerated heart rate caused by sympathetic reflex. Urapidil Hydrochloride is adapted to all types of hypertension, hypertensive crisis, severe and very severe hypertension, refractory hypertension, and control of perioperative hypertension, including patients with hypertension accompanied by hepatic and renal insufficiency, coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus, etc., as well as pulmonary arterial hypertension due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It also has a role in prostate hypertrophy.
