Surface Photovoltage Spectrometer (SPV) Analytical Service
SKU: SSSPV001
Overview
A Surface Photovoltage Spectrometer (SPV) is a technique used to study the electronic properties of materials, particularly at their surfaces and interfaces. It measures the changes in surface potential when the material is illuminated with light of varying wavelengths. This technique provides valuable insights into charge carrier dynamics, energy band structure, surface states, and defects in semiconductors and other materials. It is widely used in material science, photovoltaics, and semiconductor research to analyze processes like charge separation, recombination, and transport.
This service can test the surface photovoltage, surface photocurrent, and photovoltaic phase of powder samples, thin film samples, semiconductors, and crystals (wavelength range: 300–1100 nm), as well as transient surface photovoltage (laser wavelength: 355 nm).
Sample Requirement
-
Powder Samples: Powder samples should be ground into fine particles. (Please store powder samples in glass bottles or plastic tubes; do not use sample bags to avoid static electricity affecting the sampling process.) Required Amount: A packed volume of at least 0.3 mL.
-
Thin Film Samples: Thin film samples should have a certain thickness, with an optimal size of 20 mm × 5 mm to 40 mm × 15 mm. Similar to electrochemical working electrodes, a blank section of conductive glass should be reserved.
-
Semiconductors and Crystals: Testing for semiconductors and crystals requires pre-attached anode and cathode connections. (Only surface photovoltage can be measured for thin films, semiconductors, and crystals.)
Note: The listed price is for reference only. Please request a quote for the final pricing.
Analytical Service Minimum order requirement: $250 per order. A $200 handling fee will be applied if order is below $250.
Please contact sales@msesupplies.com for additional information and instructions on our Analytical Services program. Confirmation of the sample(s) requirements, SDS sheets and additional information is needed prior to processing the Analytical Service order.
