Amino Acid Analyzer Analytical Service

Amino Acid Analyzer is an instrument used to determine the composition or content of amino acids in proteins, peptides, and other pharmaceutical preparations.

It separates the various amino acid components of the sample based on their different structures, acidity/basicity, polarity, and molecular size using a cation exchange column. Different pH and ion concentration buffers are used to sequentially elute each amino acid component. These are then mixed with a ninhydrin reagent from another stream, and the mixture flows into a helical reaction tube for a color reaction. The absorption intensity of these colored products correlates with the concentration of each eluted amino acid according to the Beer-Lambert law. This provides the basis for qualitative and quantitative analysis of the amino acid components.
