Applications:

Iridium (Ir) based nanomaterials were demonstrated as valuable catalysts for a wide range of chemical reactions. Ir catalysts can typically be used several times without loss of activity in great part due to their expected sintering resistance properties. With their catalytic properties and stability, Ir and IrO2 have been demonstrated in various applications aiming at developing air or water treatments to address pollution related issues, like oxidation of volatile organic compounds. Ir nanoparticles (NPs) usually show good activity and especially chemo selectivity, they are stable across a wide electrochemical potential range, in alkaline and acidic media. These properties make Ir NPs and IrOx NPs relevant for several electrochemical applications.
