Proton Exchange Membrane (Pack of 100)
SKU: M-D170U-20dia-100p
Proton Exchange Membranes (PEM) are based on chemically stabilized perfluorosulfonic acid/PTFE copolymer in the acid (H+) form. The physical properties remain the same for the chemically stabilized membranes, which exhibit substantially lower fluoride ion release compared to the non-stabilized polymer – a sign of improved chemical durability. Some Proton Exchange Membranes with low thickness are additionally reinforced to maintain mechanical stability.
Application note:
Proton Exchange Membranes are widely used for PEM fuel cells and water electrolyzers. They perform as a separator and solid electrolytes in a variety of electrochemical cells that require the membrane to selectively transport cations across the cell junction. The polymer is chemically resistant and durable. The membrane may be protected from both or one side by a transparent foil, which should be removed before usage.
