Product Details:

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene which consists only carbon and fluorine atoms. Compared with the Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) binder, PTFE binder has better chemical and thermal stability because of its stable CF2-CF2 unit.  PTFE binder is ideal for the applications in an alkaline environment as compared to PVDF, which will strongly degrade in an alkaline environment via dehydroflurination.

The PTFE binder is widely used to prepare electrode materials for batteries, fuel cells and supercapacitors. Research has shown that supercapacitors using the PTFE binder can deliver better capacity and cycling performance.

SKU#: BR0162

Packing: 100g/bottle

Specifications:

CAS Number 9002-84-0
Appearance White powder
Particle Size ~480 um
Glass Transition Temperature 326~328 °C
Relative Density 2.14~2.20 g/cm3
Apparent Density ~600 g/L

Use Instructions:

1) For solid electrode preparation, mix the active material with PTFE powder and then grind to form a homogeneous mixture. Adding several drops of water or other solvent can improve the homogeneity.

2) For electrode slurry application, add the active material and PTFE powder into suitable amount of water or other solvent and then stir to form a homogeneous slurry.
