Ion Chromatography (IC) Analytical Service

Ion Chromatography (IC) is a type of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) primarily used for determining the content of anions and cations in aqueous solutions. In a narrow sense, ion chromatography refers to a chromatographic method that uses low-capacity ion exchange resins as the stationary phase to separate ionic substances and employs a conductivity detector to continuously monitor changes in the conductivity of the effluent.

The cations that can be tested include NH₄⁺, Li⁺, Na⁺, K⁺, Mg²⁺, and Ca²⁺. The anions that can be tested include Br^-, F^-, Cl^-, SO₄^2-, NO₃^-, NO₂^-, PO₄^3-, format, acetate, propionate, butyrate, sulfite, phosphate (by colorimetric method), carbonate (by titration), and bicarbonate (by titration).
