MSE PROā„¢ 10mL Hydrothermal Reactor with Flanged Closure Design

The MSE PROā„¢ Hydrothermal Reactor with Flanged Closure Design adopts a metal-to-metal hard seal and forms a simple sealed vessel by symmetrically tightening the fastening bolts. This design provides a high-temperature-resistant environment suitable for hydrothermal reactions.

Brand: MSE PROā„¢

Manufacturer: MSE Supplies LLC

MSE Supplies offers a variety of  reactors. Please contact us for more information.

Precautions for Using a Hydrothermal Reactor

  1. Check Vapor Pressure Before Use
    Before operating the hydrothermal reactor, carefully review the saturated vapor pressure of the solvent at the intended reaction temperature. Ensure it does not exceed the reactorā€™s maximum allowable operating pressure.

  2. Avoid Over-tightening During Initial Use
    When using the HTG/HTS series hydrothermal reactors, avoid over-tightening the reactor lid or top screws during the initial use. The PTFE liner inside the vessel has some compressibility under high temperature and pressure. Excessive tightening may lead to deformation of the liner due to thermal expansion.

  3. Lubricate Threads Above 150Ā°C
    When operating at temperatures above 150Ā°C, it is recommended to apply a layer of high-temperature lithium-based grease to the threads before tightening the lid. This helps prevent thread galling (seizing) under heat. For models with silver-plated threads, lubrication is not necessary.

  4. Do Not Use the Reactor Under the Following Conditions:

    a. The solvent has a boiling point below 60Ā°C (e.g., diethyl ether, acetone, dichloromethane, etc.);
    b. The reaction generates a large volume of gas;
    c. The materials involved are flammable, explosive, or classified as extremely or highly hazardous.
