The MSE PRO™ 4-Aminoindole (also known as 4-aminoindole) is an indole derivative with an amino group attached to the 4-position of the indole ring.4-Aminoindole is prepared by the reaction of 2,6-dinitrotoluene with N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal in anhydrous DMF. It is a precursor for the synthesis of various drugs. It is soluble in water, ethanol and acetone, but insoluble in carbon tetrachloride.
