MSE PRO™ Aluminum Sulfate Hexadecahydrate

The MSE PRO™ Aluminum sulfate hexadecahydrate is one of the hydrates of aluminum sulfate. Aluminum sulfate exists anhydrous and in several hydrate types (16, 18, 27, etc.). On heating the hydrate, it swells violently and becomes spongy, and on heating to red heat, decomposes into sulfur trioxide and aluminum oxide. Odorless. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol.
