The MSE PRO™ Peptidase is a competitive inhibitor of serine proteases. Peptidase binds not only to free enzyme molecules, but also to enzymes already bound to a third component (if the enzyme's active center still has binding capacity). Thus, peptidases inhibit free fibrinolytic enzymes and also inhibit the intermediate-fibrinolytic streptokinase complex formed during thrombolytic therapy studies with streptokinase.

Applications:
Peptidase is used to inhibit trypsin and chymotrypsin and to prevent the activation of other active proteogens in the pancreas as well as the self-activation of trypsinogen.Commonly used for in situ staining assays for β-galactosidase and blue-white spot screening.
