Applications:

Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeNPs, nanoceria) are widely used in chemical mechanical polishing/planarization, corrosion protection, solar cells, fuel oxidation catalysis, automotive exhaust treatment, biosensors, cancer therapy, catalytic converters, sunscreen, and drug delivery. Due to the significance of oxygen vacancies in cerium oxide, they can act as solid electrolyte in fuel cells.
