MSE PRO™ Cholinesterase, Butyryl
The MSE PRO™ Butyrylcholinesterase is a tetrameric glycoprotein with four equal-sized subunits, each with a molecular weight of 110 kDa, that catalyzes the hydrolysis of many choline esters, and cholinesterase hydrolyzes butyrylcholine four times faster than acetylcholine. Unlike acetylcholinesterase, it does not hydrolyze D-methylacetylcholine. Butyrylcholinesterase is inhibited by toxaphene, various organophosphates, carbamate derivatives, and quaternary ammonium salts.
