MSE PRO™ Deoxyribonuclease I, Filtered
The MSE PRO™ Bovine pancreatic deoxyribonuclease is an endonuclease that splits phosphodiester linkages, preferentially to those adjacent to pyrimidine nucleotides, to produce polynucleotides with a free hydroxyl group at the 3' position and a phosphate group at the 5' position. The average chain length for extreme digestion is four nucleotides.

Specifications:
SKU# | BO0052 |
Uses | Applications have included nick translation, DNA mapping, isolation of nuclear RNA and protein, plasmid construction, and RNA polymerase synthesis of RNA probes and RT-PCR. DNase is also used in tissue culture work to digest DNA from damaged cells thereby reducing viscosity, and removing membrane bound DNA fragments. |
Source | Bovine Pancreas |
Description |
Filtered through a 0.22 micron membrane and lyophilized in vials. Material is not tested for pyrogenicity. |
Storage | Store at 2-8°C. PROTECT FROM MOISTURE. |
Activity | ≥2,000 Kunitz units per mg dry weight |
Unit Definition | 1 Unit causes an increase in absorbance at 260 nm of 0.001 per minute per ml at 25°C when acting upon highly polymerized DNA at pH 5.0.Note: Kunitz units as reported by other suppliers can be 2 to 4 times higher than Kunitz units as measured at at our labs. As measured at our labs, one Kunitz unit digests 1μg of lambda DNA in 10 minutes at 37°C in 50mM Tris, 1mM Mg2+, 1mM Ca2+, pH 7.8 in a 50μl reaction. units are different for other DNA and buffer systems. |
