MSE PRO™ DTT
The MSE PRO™ Dithiothreitol (DTT) is a small molecule organic reducing agent. It is a linear molecule in its reduced state, and when oxidized, it becomes a six-membered ring structure containing disulfide bonds that slowly oxidizes in air. It is hygroscopic and sensitive to light and heat. Soluble in water, ethanol, ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform and ether, soluble in methanol and dichloromethane. Harmful and irritating. Commonly used as reducing agent, sulfhydryl protector and enzyme specific inhibitor, widely used in biochemical research.
