The MSE PRO™ Erythrosin B Sodium Salt, Algae Red B, an organic sodium salt, is the disodium salt of 2-(2,4,5,7-tetraiodo-6-oxo-3-oxo-8a,10a-dihydroxyanthracen-9-yl)benzoic acid. Contains an erythropoietin (2-). Belongs to the group of xanthones, a polycyclic aromatic compound containing a heteroanthracene fragment consisting of two benzene rings linked to a pyran ring. Acts as a fluorescent dye.
