MSE PRO™ Lysozyme, Purified, Salt Free

The MSE PRO™ Lysozyme hydrolytically cleaves the bond between N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and N-acetyl cytosolic acid residues (GlcNAc β1-4Mur) in the corresponding glycan skeleton of mucopolysaccharides and peptidoglycans (the latter being glycosaminoglycans linked or cross-linked to peptide chains). Lysozyme is effective in disrupting the cell walls of bacteria, such as Lysococcus. Shows slightly limited activity against chitin oligomers. The optimum pH is 9.2. Lysozyme is inhibited by surfactants such as dodecyl sulfate, alcohols and fatty acids. Imidazole and indole derivatives form inhibitory charge transfer complexes.
