MSE PRO Metallographic Replicating Film (AC Paper)
SKU: ACP
MSE PRO™ MSE PRO Metallographic Plastic Molding Putty
Metallographic Replicating Film (AC Paper) is a type of plastic film produced using the replication principle of transmission electron microscopy.
- Surface Replication for Microscopic Morphology: AC paper is ideal for replicating the microscopic morphology of object surfaces, especially metallographic sample surfaces, as well as mechanically removing debris from fracture surfaces.
- Non-Destructive Metallography in Special Industries: AC paper plays a critical role as a medium for obtaining metallographic structures in large components, commonly used in non-destructive testing within specialized industries, such as examining the welds of pressure vessels to assess their metallographic structures.
- Failure Analysis: In failure analysis, AC paper is an effective material for removing contaminants from fracture surfaces without applying external force that could damage their morphology. It is a more efficient method compared to alternatives.
- Sampling and Evidence Collection in Metallography: AC paper is also used in recording and preserving the original processing morphology of surfaces, such as gear tooth surfaces. This is particularly valuable for documenting wear patterns and surface damage in gears subjected to millions of cycles during operation. Phenomena like pitting, grinding marks, cracks, and adhesion can be scientifically analyzed and serve as evidence.
- On-Site Examination of Microstructures: AC paper is suitable for inspecting the microstructures of commonly used metals (e.g., carbon steels, low-alloy pearlitic steels, alloy structural steels, martensitic steels, and austenitic steels) during the manufacturing, installation, and long-term operation of thermal power units. It is also applicable in criminal investigations for extracting scratch marks left on metal surfaces.
