MSE PRO™ Nickel Fiber Felt
Description
Nickel felt can be used as a current collector in an AEM electrolyzer. It can also be used as a porous transport layer (PTL).
Nickel fiber felt is a high-performance material made from pure micron-level nickel fibers using a special felt laying process and ultra-high temperature vacuum sintering process. It can be used in an Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) water electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen.
Nickel fiber felt is a porous, high-surface-area material consisting of interconnected nickel fibers. It is a common material used in AEM (Anion Exchange Membrane) electrolyzers for the production of hydrogen through the electrolysis of water.
In an AEM electrolyzer, the main advantage of using nickel fiber felt is its high surface area, which allows for a higher current density and therefore higher hydrogen production rates. The nickel fibers provide a highly conductive and highly porous surface area for the electrochemical reduction of protons to hydrogen gas. Nickel fiber felt is highly resistant to corrosion and has good mechanical stability, which allows it to withstand the harsh operating conditions of an electrolyzer.
