The MSE PRO™ Alkaline phosphatase is a membrane-bound glycoprotein, a group of isoenzymes that catalyze the shedding of the 5' phosphate group from nucleic acid molecules, thereby converting the 5'-P terminus of a DNA or RNA fragment to a 5'-OH terminus. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters at alkaline pH and can be used in molecular biology experiments such as enzyme-linked immunoassays, Western Blotting, and histochemical assays.
