MSE PRO™ Sucrose
The MSE PRO™ Sucrose is a non-reducing sugar composed of one molecule of glucose hemiacetal hydroxyl and one molecule of fructose hemiacetal hydroxyl condensed and dehydrated with each other, and is almost universally found in leaves, flowers, stems, seeds and fruits in the plant kingdom. It is especially abundant in sugar cane, sugar beet and maple sap. Hygroscopic. Stable in air. Can be hydrolyzed to glucose and fructose by dilute acid converting enzyme. Soluble in water, ethanol, methanol, slightly soluble in glycerol, pyridine.

Applications:
Reagent sucrose can be used for the determination of 1-naphthol, also used for calcium, magnesium separation and the preparation of biological culture medium. In biochemical experiments, cell culture grade is used for purification of viruses and proteins by sucrose gradient. Plant cell culture grades are used for cryoprotection in plant cells. Molecular biology grades are used for isodensity centrifugation of discontinuous sucrose density gradients, e.g., isolation of mRNA from membrane-bound ribosomes.Sucrose is also widely used in the chemical industry, food industry and other fields.
