MSE PRO™ Tris
The MSE PRO™ Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane is an organic compound, soluble in ethanol and water, slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, benzene, insoluble in ether, carbon tetrachloride. The aqueous solution does not absorb carbon dioxide in air. It has a corrosive effect on copper and aluminum and is an irritating chemical. It can be used as an alkaline buffer substance. Trimethylolpropane is commonly used as a buffer component in downstream chromatographic steps of biomolecules and in liquid manufactured products.

Applications:
As a solvent for nucleic acids and proteins, it can be used alone as a buffer or as a component of mixed buffer formulations, acid gas absorbent. Preparation of reference substances for acidometric titrations. Used in the determination of sulfhydryl groups in proteins by current titration; separation of serum proteins by electrophoresis on paper; separation of toxins by starch plate electrophoresis. Also used for protein crystal growth at different pH conditions.
