MSE PRO™ Trypsin, 0.22 µm Filtered
The MSE PRO™ Trypsin is a substrate-specific pancreatic serine protease based on positively charged lysine and arginine side chains. It is derived from a 34 k Da inactive precursor enzyme, trypsinogen, which is enzymatically cleaved to remove the N-terminal 6-amino-acid lead sequence to yield a 23.8 k Da trypsin molecule. The optimum p H is 8.0. trypsin is inhibited by organophosphorus compounds such as diisopropyl fluorophosphate and natural inhibitors from the pancreas. Soybeans, lima beans and egg whites are also sources of natural inhibitors. Trypsin cleaves the amide and ester bonds of Arg and Lys. Our sequencing grade trypsin has been further purified to remove trace amounts of contaminating proteases and autolysis products that may interfere with tryptic digestion experiments and shows a single band on PAGE.
