Solid-State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (SSNMR) is a spectroscopic technique designed for studying solid materials. It becomes especially valuable when the sample to be analyzed is difficult to dissolve or undergoes changes upon dissolution. SSNMR provides critical insights into microscopic structure and molecular dynamics, including bonding patterns, host-guest interactions, and molecular crystal structures.

This technique allows for one-dimensional and multi-dimensional NMR spectroscopy across a wide range of nuclei, such as 1H^1H, 13C^{13}C, 19F^{19}F, 31P^{31}P, 29Si^{29}Si, 27Al^{27}Al, and 15N^{15}N.

Types of materials that can be analyzed include:

  • Inorganic materials (e.g., solid catalysts, glass, ceramics)
  • Organic solids (e.g., polymers, protein membranes)
  • Biological materials (e.g., bones, hydroxyapatite)

Sample states suitable for analysis include solid powders.

SSNMR applications span a wide array of fields, including protein structures, bacteria, polymers, pharmaceutical compounds, batteries, and food products.

Testing Method

Note: The following information is for demonstration purposes only and does not represent actual parameters.

Sample Preparation: Grind the sample into a fine, particle-free powder. For samples in film or elastomer form, cut them into small fragments using scissors.

Sample Loading: Uniformly fill the prepared sample into a clean rotor. Carefully place the cap (typically KEL-F) onto the rotor opening and press firmly. Mark half of the lower slope of the rotor with a black marker for identification.

Testing: Insert the sample into the probe, and use instruments such as the Bruker Avance 400MHz (Germany) to analyze the prepared sample. Select the appropriate filter and λ/2 rod position based on the target nucleus. The instrument probe model is H13925_0025 (PH MAS DVT 400W1 BL4 N-P/F-H). Data is processed using analysis software like Topspin for baseline correction and phase adjustment.
