Synchrotron X-ray Scattering (SAXS/WAXS) Analytical Service
SKU: SYNSAXS001
SAXS (Small-Angle X-ray Scattering) technology is based on fluctuations in the electron density within a sample and can be used to analyze geometric structural information such as the shape and size of scatterers. These scatterers can be particles with specific morphologies or tiny pores. Additionally, SAXS not only reveals the geometric structure of the scatterers but also provides information on the content of the scatterers, specifically the volume fraction occupied by scatterers of different scales. This technique is typically used to analyze samples such as biomacromolecules, protein complexes, nanoparticles, porous materials, and polymers.
WAXS (Wide-Angle X-ray Scattering) provides high-resolution information about the crystalline structure, morphology, and orientation of thin films. It is widely used in studying organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite materials, quantum dots, polymer films, nanocomposites, and self-assembled monolayers. WAXS has become an essential technique for investigating film growth mechanisms, molecular order, and interfacial interactions.
