Vitrinite Reflectance Analytical Service
SKU: VR001
Overview
Vitrinite reflectance refers to the percentage of the intensity of reflected light relative to the intensity of perpendicularly incident light. Under a reflective microscope with a constant incident light intensity, the reflectance is determined by comparing the photometric signal values of the vitrinite in the coal polish section with those of a standard sample with a known reflectance.
As the degree of thermal maturity increases, the optical anisotropy of vitrinite becomes more pronounced, and the statistical range of vitrinite reflectance values also increases. Therefore, when the vitrinite reflectance exceeds 1%, it is recommended to measure as many points as possible to ensure the reliability of the statistical data for vitrinite reflectance.
