MSE PRO Hydrogen Generator
Hydrogen generators are devices that produce hydrogen gas on demand for various applications such as laboratory use, industrial processes, and fuel cells. Two common types of hydrogen generators are Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) hydrogen generators and Alkaline hydrogen generators.
1. Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Hydrogen Generators:
PEM hydrogen generators use a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) to conduct protons from the anode to the cathode. Water is split into hydrogen and oxygen gases through electrolysis. PEM technology is known for producing high-purity hydrogen and offers quick start-up times, compact design, and efficient operation. These generators are commonly used in laboratories, small-scale industrial applications, and fuel cell systems.
2. Alkaline Hydrogen Generators:
Alkaline hydrogen generators use an alkaline electrolyte solution, typically potassium hydroxide (KOH), to facilitate the electrolysis process. This type of generator is cost-effective and has been used for large-scale hydrogen production for many years. It is known for its durability and the ability to produce large quantities of hydrogen, making it suitable for industrial applications.
MSE SUPPLIES offers both PEM and alkaline hydrogen generators, both of them have specific advantages and are chosen based on the required hydrogen purity, production volume, and application needs.
