4×4 High Speed Fiber Optical Switch: 100ns, 18dB On/Off (NSSW)

MSE Supplies offers 4×4 High Speed Fiber Optical Switch: 100ns, 18dB On/Off (NSSW). This series fiber optic switch uniquely features fast switching and exceptionally low optical loss, as well as high optical power handling. This is achieved using our patented electro-optical configuration featuring clean fast response without ripples. The NS fiber optic switch meets the most demanding switching requirements of continuous operations over 25 years and non-mechanical ultra-high reliability. The 4×4 configuration combines multiple NS switches mounted on a single control board. 5V TTL signals control the NS Series switch with our specially designed electronic driver having performance optimized for various repetition rates. The switch is intrinsically bidirectional and selectable for polarization-independent or polarization-maintain by the fiber type. For a non-blocking full 4×4 configuration, it combines 24 pieces of 1×2 which are driven by five TTL input pins. The TTL code enables fast switching among all the possible light path connections. The rise/fall time is intrinsically related to the crystal properties, and the repetition rate is associated with the driver. There are poor frequency response sections due to the device resonances. The NS devices are shipped mounted on a tuned driver. The NS series switches respond to a control signal with any arbitrary timing with frequency from DC up to MHz. The switch is usually mounted on a tuned driver before shipping. Electrical power consumption is related to the repetition rate at which the switch is operated. The dual-stage configuration increases the extinction ratio or cross-talk value.
