Akron Abrasion Testing Analytical Service

Overview

The Akron Abrasion Tester is primarily used to evaluate the wear resistance of rubber, including wear abrasion, fatigue abrasion, and abrasive wear. The test involves subjecting elastomer samples to friction against a grinding wheel at a specific angle of inclination and under a defined load. The wear volume of the sample is then calculated after a certain travel distance.

Sample Requirements

Standard sheet materials are sufficient.

• Angle Range: 0–45°
• Maximum Speed: 76 ± 2 rpm
• Maximum Test Distance: 1.61 km
