The Enantiomeric Excess (ee) value is usually used to describe the enantiomeric purity of the chiral compound synthesis product. The determination of ee value has important applications in chiral drug research and development, environmental monitoring and other fields.

The ee value of a chiral compound is determined by measuring its enantiomeric excess percent. This process involves quantifying the excess of one enantiomer relative to another in a sample of a compound, usually expressed as a percentage. The ee value is an important parameter for measuring the optical purity of chiral compounds. The higher the value, the greater the proportion of a specific single chiral molecule in the sample.
