Dual-Band Emissivity Testing Analytical Service
SKU: DBETA001
Overview
Dual-band emissivity testing is a method used to measure the emissivity of a material across two distinct wavelength bands. Emissivity, a key thermal and optical property, indicates a material's efficiency in emitting thermal radiation. This testing is crucial in applications such as thermal imaging, aerospace, and materials science, where understanding a material's radiative behavior at specific wavelengths is essential for accurate thermal management and analysis.
Appointment Notes
Testing Method:
The instrument uses point-source testing (i.e., one data point per test), not full scanning. Each sample is typically tested 9 times, and only the average value is provided.
Powder Samples:
The powder volume must be at least 1 mL.
Bulk Samples:
- Round Samples: Diameter of 2–4.4 cm.
- Square Samples: Edge length of 2–3.1 cm (preferably close to 3.1 cm).
- Thickness should ideally be greater than 1 mm; thinner samples may allow transmission, which affects accuracy. The surface should not be overly rough.
- Thin Film Samples with Substrates: Film thickness should preferably exceed 10 microns; thinner films are generally inaccurate for testing.
