Silver (Ag) is a soft, white, lustrous transition metal. It exhibits the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and reflectivity of any metal. It is used in solar panels, water filtration, jewelry, ornaments, high-value tableware and utensils, electrical contacts and conductors, specialized mirrors, window coatings, catalysis of chemical reactions, as a colorant in stained glass, and specialized confectionery. Aside from optical field, it is also used as a coating material for cathodes to improve their electrochemical properties and for biomaterials to prevent infection.
