MSE PRO™ EDTA, Edetic Acid
The MSE PRO™ Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a substituted diamine . Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is a chelating agent that can bind to divalent metal ions such as Mg2+, Ca2+, Mn2+ and Fe2+. It is soluble in sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and ammonia solution, soluble in boiling water, slightly soluble in cold water, insoluble in ethanol and general organic solvents.

Applications:
Used as inhibitor of nuclease, protease, calcium ion chelator, also can be used to remove heavy metal ions on the enzyme inhibition. It can chelate calcium and magnesium divalent cations in the outer membrane of bacteria, and lead to the loss of membrane lipopolysaccharide, so that the bacteria are sensitive to bactericides. It can also be used as a transmembrane ammonium ethylenediaminetetraacetate gradient method applied to drug delivery. The inhibitory effect of trace heavy metals on enzyme-catalyzed reactions can be eliminated in biochemical studies.
