Applications 

Hafnium diboride (or Hafnium Boride, HfB₂) is a Ultra-high-temperature ceramic (UHTC) with a melting temperature of 3250°C. It has been used as oxidization protection systems under extreme conditions. It can be refractory and tribological ceramic coatings due to its high thermal and electrical conductivities. Moreover, HfB₂ has also utilized as nuclear reactor control rod due to Boron element.
