The MSE PRO™ Iron (II) Oxalate Dihydrate, Ferrous oxalate dihydrate, Ferrous oxalate is a compound consisting of an iron ion and an oxalate ion. The more common form of ferrous oxalate is dihydrate, whose crystal structure consists of a chain of oxalate-bridged iron atoms covered with water molecules, which when heated dehydrates and decomposes into carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, iron oxide, and scorched black iron.
