MSE PRO™ Potasium Pyruvate
The MSE PRO™ Potassium pyruvate, an intermediate in sugar metabolism and enzymatic carbohydrate degradation. It is converted to acetaldehyde and carbon dioxide by carboxylase. In muscle, it is reduced to lactic acid during exercise, then oxidized and partially reconverted to glycogen at rest. When present in the culture medium, it promotes the restoration of coliform bacteria. Involved in metabolic regulatory pathways activated by mitochondrial oxidation and in the regulation of plant respiration.
