The MSE PRO™ Potassium sodium tartrate tetrahydrate is a crystal, also known as Rochelle's salt, with a salty and bitter taste. It is slightly weathered in warm air, loses crystalline 3 molecules of water at 100°C, loses all water at 130-140°C, and begins to decompose at 220°C. It is soluble in water and almost insoluble in alcohol. Soluble in water, almost insoluble in alcohol, aqueous solution is alkaline to litmus.

Applications:
Used as reducing agent, complexing agent, retardant, desulfurizing agent, masking agent, used in biochemical testing of serum protein. Also used in the preparation of Lowry's reagent, which can detect the concentration of protein, and as a component in the preparation of DNS (3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid) reagent and Fehling's solution B, which can be used for the determination of reducing sugar.
