The MSE PRO™ Sunset Yellow is a red-orange azo dye used as a synthetic colorant in a variety of foods and beverages to improve their texture and appearance. It is odorless. Soluble in water, glycerol, propylene glycol, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in oil. Aqueous solution is yellow-orange in color. Stable in citric acid, tartaric acid, color fades when reduced. 0.1% aqueous solution is orange-yellow. Reddish brown in alkali.
